In Red Boiling Springs, history isn’t just found in the mineral waters—it’s built into the very landscape. The town’s three iconic covered bridges serve as charming monuments to a community that knows how to turn a challenge into a landmark. Born out of the recovery following the great flood of 1969, these wooden-plank treasures were constructed in the early 1970s as part of a visionary plan to protect and beautify the banks of Salt Lick Creek.

Today, they offer a nostalgic invitation to slow down. You can still experience the rhythmic “thump-thump” of tires over timber as you drive across the Church Street Bridge or the Valley View Road Bridge, both beautifully preserved since 1973. For those who prefer a slower pace, the Pedestrian Walking Bridge offers the perfect vantage point to pause and listen to the creek below. Whether you’re capturing a photo of their rustic silhouettes or simply enjoying a “vintage spirit” stroll through our parks, these bridges are a testament to the enduring, unhurried rhythm of Macon County.
